Carol Mead presents "Visions of Nature" a new line of Giclee Fine Art Prints to further decorate your home.
A Giclee (ghee-CLAY) is an individually produced high resolution reproduction printed on archival paper or canvas. These prints have a color gamut far beyond traditional lithography producing a sharper, brighter image for you to enjoy.
Some are inspired by the turn of the century Arts & Crafts Movement and it's reverence for nature, others by my nature travels and explorations worldwide.
All are created by my originals, if watercolor, sometimes as many as fifty delicate veils of color applied until the result desired is achieved. A file is then prepared for print, and actually printed by me in the studio.
These prints are open edition, I sign and number with the date they are produced. Some of today's most valuable prints are those of Audubon, Currier & Ives because of masterful engraving techniques. My prints are produced using 35 years of Gravure Engraving experience. Gravure is an Intaglio engraving process used for high quality printing such as National Geographic.
I use an acid free, 100% cotton rag Fine Art Paper 425g/m2. It is eggshell colored cold press paper with the look & touch of Old World handmade paper. Capable of accepting 1440 dpi, high resolution prints that yield brilliant colors and deep blacks. After printing a protective topcoat is applied to guard against UV so your prints will last thru generations.
